Microsoft Office for Free? Yup!
Microsoft has a free version for people to use on the
web. It has all the handy dandy basic
features like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sway, OneNote, Outlook, People and
Calendar. Some of the advanced features
are not there, but it’s free and does all the cool stuff you’re used to. It’s called Office Online.
Word is probably one of the most used features. The biggest
difference between the Office Online version and the Office 365 version are two
References and Mailings.
Mailings allows you to print envelopes and labels and manage
mail merge. References contains features for advanced documents like, table of
contents, citations and things like that.
I never use those anyway!
Office Online is probably all most people need, just keep in
mind that it only works when you are connected.
You would need a paid, locally installed version otherwise.
You can always start with the free version and upgrade if
you really, really need to.
